A woofer is a type of speaker, it's a transducer that converts electrical signals into sound. Woofer is composed of electromagnet, coil, horn film, with treble horn, alto horn together to form a car audio. The principle of physics is that when the current passes through the coil, an electromagnetic field is generated, and the direction of the magnetic field is the right-hand rule. Suppose that the woofer plays the C tone, and its frequency is 256 Hz, that means it vibrates 256 times per second. The woofer outputs an alternating current of 256 Hz. The current changes 256 times per second, and the C tone frequency is emitted. When the electric coil vibrates with the woofer membrane, pushing the surrounding air to vibrate and the woofer produces sound.


As the human ear hear sound is limited (20Hz--20000Hz), so the general woofer will set the program within this range. Electromagnetic woofers are roughly composed of power systems (including magnets, voice coils, or electric coils). Vibration system (including: sound film, which is horn diaphragm, dust cap, damper), support system (including: frame, etc.). The working principle is the same as above. The energy conversion process is to convert electrical energy into magnetic energy, then from magnetic energy to mechanical energy, and then from mechanical energy to sound.


Application fields

The woofer, tweeter, and midrange speaker cooperate to form a sound system. The sound is vibratory, has a long wavelength and low frequency, which makes the human ear resonate and shocked. It is widely used in places such as KTV, bars, and stages.


Frequency Range

The frequency response range of the woofer is 16-256Hz. Among them, 16-64HZ volume feels powerful and shocking; 64-128HZ volume feels strong, 128-256HZ volume feels rich.
