The nominal maximum power is the power value of the equipment without physical or electrical damage for a very short period of time (usually only a few milliseconds), taking no account of distortion. Continuous output power (RMS) is the power that can continue to work steadily without distortion. Only this value can truly reflect the working state of the horn.
Secondly, attention should be paid to the selection of power. The continuous output power of the power amplifier is less than the continuous output power of the tweeter. It is easy to lead to the destruction of the automobile tweeter. Because if work puts the continuous output power 100W, after connecting the system, once adjust volume knob, output power is in 100W or so when, power amplifier has been in full load running state. And the tweeter speaker has a lot of margin, once the user continues to increase the volume, this time the output power exceeds the power amplifier's continuous output power value, that is, the distortion begins to produce the moment! This distortion, known as clipping distortion, can easily burn out the voice coil by producing a DC-like electrical signal with even a small amount of power.
